New Pakistan Policy?

This article is an example of excellent journalism.  David Sanger is one of the premier US foreign affairs journalists.

It concerns discussions as to the green-lighting of new covert CIA-Special Ops activities of a more aggressive nature in the tribal regions of Pakistan in light of Bhutto’s murder and the increase of Taliban and al-Qaeda ferocity in the region.  But according to the reporting no such plans have been shared with Musharraf whom Bush still backs (it would appear) 100%.

With Hillary Clinton now saying she would have never lead the US to war in Iraq because the real fight is/was in Afghanistan.  With the US considering interdictions in the FATA (Fed. Admin. Tribal Areas), with the NIE report on Iran, and with the Pentagon calling for troop reductions in Iraq off-set by troops increases in Afghanistan, Barack Obama’s Foreign Affairs article, outlining his foreign policy views from Summer 07, looks more and more prescient by the day.
